At Clinical Skin Solutions, all laser treatmens includes the use of Selective Growth Factors and
Peptides to create the maximal tightness through increased Collagen production!
The Major Differences Between the Pixel-Q and the Pixel are:
No Pain No Downtime No Peeling (no post emollient necessary) Tightens DEEPER tissue!
Fractional lasers, such as the Pixel and the Pixel-Q, have helped many people
have younger looking more beautiful skin.
This is achieved through the use of BOTH ablative (Pixel) and non-ablative (Pixel-Q) techniques, respectively!
Traditionally, fractional laser technology has been ablative and works to reduce top layers of skin through
post treatment peeling (downtime).
This results in the smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles, evening of pigmentation, and mild decreases in the
appearance of old acne scars.
Most people, however, after receiving a series of ablative treatments, or having deeper wrinkles or acne scars,
will progress on to the NON-ablative technology.
The NON-ablative technology, addresses the deeper layers of skin, bypassing the superficial layers.
This results in an intense tightening of tissue from the natural stimulation of collagen.
This innovation in skin resurfacing delivers a controlled energy at the proper depth without harming the overlying skin.
Therefore, all stages of "healing" and skin remodeling occur under the protection of a complete epidermis without the
downtime or pain!
BOTOX® is a therapeutic muscle-relaxing agent that works at motor nerve endings (nerves that lead to muscles). It is in a class of drugs called neurotoxins. When considering neurotoxin therapy, it is important to understand how the product works, the history of its use in patients, its protein content, and possible side effects. This page is designed to help you understand more about BOTOX®: what it is, how it works, and how it can help you. Refer to this page in the future should you have further questions about BOTOX® treatment.
Q. What is BOTOX®? A. BOTOX® is a novel therapeutic agent derived from the bacterium, Clostridium Botulinum. Also known as Botulinum Toxin Type A, the brand BOTOX® is produced in controlled laboratory conditions and given in extremely small therapeutic doses. BOTOX® is indicated for the treatment of blepharospasm associated with dystonia in patients 12 years of age and above. BOTOX® is being investigated for several conditions associated with overactive muscle activity. Botulinum Toxin Type A is the most studied of the seven different serotypes of botulinum toxin (A, B, C1, D, E, F, G). Each serotype has different properties and actions. No two are exactly alike.
Q. How does BOTOX® work?A. Normally your brain sends electrical messages to your muscles so that they can contract and move. The electrical message is transmitted to the muscle by a substance called acetylcholine. BOTOX® works to block the release of acetylcholine and, as a result, the muscle doesn't receive the message to contract. This means that the muscle spasms stop or are greatly reduced after using BOTOX®, providing predictable and reliable relief from symptoms.
BOTOX® is not a cure. For many patients, however, its effects have been dramatic - symptoms usually begin to dissipate within a few See Mechanism of Action for more information.
Q. How is BOTOX® administered?A. BOTOX® is injected into the muscle. Your doctor will determine the muscle(s) in need of treatment.
Q. Does the treatment hurt?A. A very fine needle is used for the one to three injections that are usually given per muscle. Some patients report minor and temporary discomfort from treatment.
Q. When does BOTOX® start to work?A. Usually, you will see the effects of BOTOX® within three days. The maximum benefit is reached in one to two weeks.
Q. How long does the effect last?A. Given its unique mechanism of action, BOTOX® offers sustained relief, dose after dose over the course of long-term treatment. The relief you will feel from a single treatment of BOTOX® will normally be sustained for approximately three months. You will notice a gradual fading of its effects. At this point you will return to your doctor for your next treatment. Usually, BOTOX® treatment is required only three or four times a year. Symptoms may vary throughout the course of the condition, and so the degree of relief and duration of effect varies from person to person. Consult your doctor, who has special knowledge about how to achieve the best possible results with BOTOX® for your individual case.
Q. How long can I be treated with BOTOX®?A. Treatment with BOTOX® can typically be repeated indefinitely. BOTOX® has been used for over 10 years worldwide. Acceptable safety in long-term treatment has been well established. There are a number of factors that can impact the long-term usage of BOTOX®. These include: Setting appropriate expectations - Changes occurring with subsequent BOTOX® injections may be less dramatic than the first injection. Appropriate muscle selection - Identifying and injecting the affected muscle can be difficult, complicated by the changing pattern of muscle involvement and progression of the disorder. Adequate dosing - Changes in response may require dose adjustment. Minimizing exposure to neurotoxin complex proteins1 - Botulinum toxins contain proteins. In certain circumstances, when foreign proteins enter the body, the natural response is to form antibodies to the protein. When antibodies are formed, the effect may be that one is no longer able to respond to the therapy. High doses and frequent injections of botulinum toxin have been linked to the formation of antibodies. 1,2 Antibody formation with BOTOX® is rare. The likelihood of forming antibodies is reduced by having treatment no more frequently than about every three months. BOTOX® has approximately 5 ng of neurotoxin complex proteins per 100 unit vial, a relatively low amount of protein, which may help to further minimize the potential to form antibodies.
Q. Is BOTOX® a new treatment?A. No. BOTOX® has been used for over 20 years in thousands of patients worldwide. The American Academy of Neurology, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and National Institutes of Health have recognized BOTOX® (Botulinum Toxin Type A) as a valuable treatment.
Q. Is BOTOX® right for me?A. Ask your doctor if BOTOX® is the right treatment for you. BOTOX® should not be used during pregnancy, if you are nursing, or if you are taking certain medications. Only your physician can determine the best course of therapy. The effects of BOTOX® may be increased with the use of certain antibiotics or other drugs that interfere with neuromuscular transmission. Ensure that your doctor is aware of any current medications you are taking. If you have any questions regarding the use of BOTOX® treatment, please consult your doctor.
Q. What side effects may be experienced when using BOTOX®?A. All medications have some side effects. With BOTOX®, side effects are usually transient and mild to moderate in nature. Some people notice temporary weakness of muscles or discomfort at the injection site. Based on a recent study of BOTOX® in the treatment of blepharospasm (n=98), drooping of the eyelid occurred in 20.8% of patients. Other side effects may include eye irritation, dry eye/tearing/light sensitivity (10%), and superficial punctate keratitis
The ClearLift Laser Facelift provides collagen production with a remarkable rejuvenating advantage - it's Non-Invasive, and has NO PAIN and NO Down time!
Patients are enjoying fast, comfortable treatments with visible results and no downtime.
Used as a new alternative to traditional laser skin resurfacing and laser skin surgery, ClearLift improves fine lines, wrinkles,
the appearance of small veins and redness caused by vascularity. It is gentle enough to treat areas that are typically too sensitive
to treat with traditional ablative lasers, such as the delicate skin around the eyes, neck, mouth and chest.
ClearLift delivers controlled laser energy to the dermis without harming the overlying epidermis so that all stages of healing and
skin repair occur under the outer layer of skin. Treatments take as little as 20 minutes and visible results are seen just after one treatment.
"ClearLift is unique from every other laser in its category," says Dr. Macrene Alexiades-Armenakas, MD, PhD, a board certified dermatologist practicing in New York in a press release earlier this year. "The laser penetrates deep but by bypassing the outer most
layer of skin and not wounding it, it renders the treatment virtually painless, with no downtime while being extraordinarily safe.
It is, therefore, the treatment of choice for repairing as well as treating sensitive areas, which historically were very difficult to treat
due to their association with an increased risk of burns and scars." The treatment typically runs $600 to $750 per treatment.
Important to note that although some patients have seen improvement after the first visit,
5 treatments about 1 month apart are typically required to see optimal results. No numbing is required prior to treatment and
patients return to work the same day and have no prolonged facial redness and swelling. ClearLift, the fractional rejuvenation procedure performed exclusively by Pixel® laser technology from Alma Lasers®, erases years from your face and stimulates new collagen to grow. This innovative laser treatment
helps counteract years of skin damage, This dramatic procedure improves your skin's texture and tone to reduce the
size of pores, fights fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, pigmentation problems like melasma, and can help reduce the unsightly appearance of stretch marks.
In more detail ... the Pixel® laser light passes through patented optics to penetrate the intact skin surface
creating tiny thermal channels, without disturbing the skin or surrounding tissue. These micro-channel sites
(about 15-20 percent of the treatment area) start the process of healing. As collagen remodels, skin tightens
and scars improve. The intact, undamaged skin over the treatment site promotes quicker healing for a fast
recovery - treat today then back to work - no one will know!

Anyone whose skin shows signs of aging is a candidate for ClearLift.
Does the ClearLift work on all skin types?
ClearLift can be performed on all skin types at any time of the year.
How Long Will the Laser Treatment Take?
ClearLift treatments usually take approximately 20 minutes per area.
What will I Experience During and After the Treatment?
Because Alma Laser’s ClearLift heats deep beneath the skin (up to 3mm in depth) no numbing is required prior to treatment and all skin healing happens without damaging the outer layer of skin.
Most experience a pleasant warmth during the treatment. Occasionally there may be a snapping sound as the laser head is moved from area to area but that is entirely painless and without consequence.
After the treatment, you can expect your skin to feel slightly warm with minimal redness that lasts from 3 to 9 hours, without any visable post treatment healing!
In many cases, results can be noticeable after 1 treatment. Skin’s appearance continues to improve after each session with optimal results in as little as 3-6 months.
Will I need a touch-up later?
While ClearLift will reverse some of the appearance of aging, It can't stop the aging process.
Daily use of an advanced Anti-Aging hydrator will help prevent new damage from occurring and extends the effects of your skin renewal and collagen remodeling. A full spectrum sunscreen will maximizing the benefits of your fractional treatment and will ultimately increase the length of time between maintenance sessions!
After a Treatment Package of 5, most results can be maintained through a touch-up treatment every three to six months.
How much does ClearLift Laser Facelift cost?
ClearLift costs vary depending on the surface areas treated. You will need series of treatments to complete a package and maximize initial collagen restoration.
The New Neck-Lifts
A quest for firm skin between chin and chest is the latest antiaging obsession.
By Liz Krieger
The late Nora Ephron may have been the first to declare publicly how bad she felt about her neck, but women everywhere understand the feeling. In fact, some of those who are most troubled by the dreaded turkey wattle are not yet at the midcentury mark—significantly younger than Ephron was when she penned her treatise. And these women are not donning turtlenecks and scarves à la Ephron: They're taking action, opting for high-tech neck-lifts with fast results.
A long, smooth, elegant neck has always been a coveted feature. "Consider some of the all-time great beauties—Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor," says Sam Rizk, a New York plastic surgeon who specializes in face and neck work. "That crisp and clean neckline is the gold standard of youth." The neck ages similarly to the face; in the late 30s and early 40s, fine lines appear, texture becomes uneven or splotchy, and in the 40s, gravity kicks in, resulting in slackness and sag, explains Adam Kolker, a plastic surgeon in New York known for his natural-looking results....
Of course, not all doctors agree about the supremacy of the scalpel. New York dermatologist Bruce Katz likes the Alma ClearLift laser: "It bypasses the outer layer of skin, where it boosts collagen growth and lifts sagging skin. There's zero pain or redness." Cost: $300 to $500 per treatment; three to five are recommended. Still, for the longest-lasting results, experts like Kolker maintain that you'll eventually graduate to surgery. "The real truth is, to correct the effects of gravity, you need to resuspend the muscle and skin," he says. The luminous, antiaging result for the woman whose neck now matches her face is undeniable, adds Katz. "It's like going from a 40-watt lightbulb to a 100-watt bulb."
Mesotherapy is a technique, invented in 1952 by Dr. Michel Pistor, where medication is injected into the mesoderm, the layer of fat and connective tissue under the skin.
Over the past 50+ years, an excess of 15,000 physicians world-wide have used Mesotherapy on a daily basis for a variety of purposes, including overall weight loss, spot weight reduction, hair loss, scar revision and wrinkle elimination.
Mesotherapy is also used to correct unevenness, lumps, or divots that develop after liposuction as well as cellulite reduction.
Cellulite is caused by bands of connective tissue that trap the fat and thereby causing the "dimpling" effect. The medications used in Mesotherapy consist of natural ingredients, plant extracts and safe metabolism boosters.
They weaken the connective tissue bands and dissolve the trapped fat, creating a smooth, dimple-free appearance. The medications also melt the fat beneath the skin and shrink the fat cells. The fat dissolves and is carried through the bloodstream and excreted by kidneys and bowel.
In 1987, the French Academy of Medicine recognized Mesotherapy as an inherent part of traditional medicine. The International Society of Mesotherapy encompasses 14 countries throughout Europe and South America.
Using a very tiny needle (0.4 to 0.6 cm or the size of an eyelash), the medication is injected into the mesoderm painlessly. Patients have universally reported that the treatments cause less pain than a momentary, light pinch.
For cellulite, weight loss, and spot weight reduction, the medications are injected directly to the areas being treated. Treatments are administered weekly, and patients usually begin seeing results by the fourth treatment. After 10 treatments, most patients see a significant decrease in size, improved skin tone, and smoothing of cellulite.
Many patients develop unevenness, divots, or lumps after undergoing liposuction. These areas can be successfully treated with Mesotherapy. The scar tissue that forms under the skin after liposuction is directly targeted and dissolved. Patients see and feel smoothing of divots and lumps, and the unevenness resolves.
The combination of vitamins, herbal products and medication that is injected is tailored specifically for each patient to optimize results.
What are Restylane™, Juvederm™, Radiesse™, Sculptra™ and Perlane™?
Restylane™, Juvederm™, Radiesse™, Sculptra™ and Perlane™ are fillers which can be injected beneath the skin to remove facial lines, fill depressed areas and actually lift the skin in some areas. These fillers can dramatically rejuvenate the facial appearance and are widely used today in anti-aging facial skin care.
What are Restylane™, Juvederm™, Radiesse™, Sculptra™ and Perlane™ made of?
These soft tissue fillers are FDA approved, liquid or gel medications that are injected beneath the skin to plump or fill an area of the facial skin which is depressed, such as a line, fold or area of atrophy. Soft tissue fillers are used to plump facial lines and wrinkles, to camouflage a fold of skin around the mouth, and to fill depressed areas such as the cheek that occur during facial aging.
The new fillers are hypoallergenic unlike older collagen type fillers used in the past. Most are a form of Hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a normal “ground substance” in the skin which helps maintain fullness and moisture in youthful skin. Some HA products are cross linked or have larger particle size for longer lasting results. Some, newer longer lasting fillers are made of other types of materials which I will discuss below. The ingredient of the common facial fillers is:
• Perlane™-Hyaluronic Acid-Large particle
How Are Restylane™, Juvederm™, Radiesse™, Sculptra™ and Perlane™ Used To Correct Facial Aging?
Soft tissue fillers are injected into the skin to add volume. Think of fillers as skin plumping agents. With aging the skin loses collagen and becomes lax. Especially in the mid face and cheek area the face can develop depressions and make the face look gaunt. Fillers can be injected into these depressions to make the cheek look more full and youthful.
Fillers are also injected into deep facial lines. The nose to mouth lines or nasolabial fold lines and marionette lines give the face an aged appearance. The fillers can be injected into the depth of these lines to plump the lines and camouflage the folds. Fillers can also be used to plump the aging lips:
Recently, larger filler injections have been done to plump the cheek and fill and lift the jowl in a procedure called the liquid face lift, with dramatic results!
Radiesse
Radiesse® dermal filler is made of calcium-based microspheres suspended in a water-based gel. It's injected into the skin with minimal if any discomfort and the results are immediate and long lasting!
Healthy young skin contains collagen that gives it volume, flexibility and strength. As part of the aging process, your own natural collagen breaks down, diminishing facial volume. This loss of elasticity and volume results in the wrinkles, facial lines and skin laxity that rob your skin of its youthful appearance.
Welcome Back Your Own Natural Collagen
The ideal way to achieve wrinkle reduction is by replenishing lost volume. With RADIESSE® wrinkle filler, you welcome back your own natural collagen to smooth out the signs of aging. That's because RADIESSE wrinkle filler's unique formulation stimulates collagenesis – the production of new collagen – which results in increased volume for natural looking wrinkle correction that may last a year or more in many patients. It's also why more and more cosmetic surgeons, estheticians, and other medical professionals are choosing RADIESSE wrinkle filler for long-lasting facial rejuvenation.
The RADIESSE wrinkle filler difference:
Stimulates the body's own natural collagen production
Instantly corrects wrinkles
Results that may last a year or more in many patients
Now FDA approved to enhance patient comfort1 with lidocaine mixing
In just one syringe, many patients can achieve long-lasting youthful results. And now you can ask your doctor about the RADIESSE treatment option that significantly improves comfort. Because treatment with RADIESSE wrinkle filler is simple, quick, comfortable and convenient, with immediately visible results that last, more and more people are discovering that it is the natural choice for maintaining a more youthful appearance.
Looking for non-surgical advancements in facial rejuvenation? Well, look no further. With the recent introduction of a revolutionary filler known as Restylane, patients in the United States now have access to a product that has been used in Europe for several years showing great success in achieving facial rejuvenation with injections. While there are numerous injectable fillers on the market today, many of them have their drawbacks including allergic reactions and relatively short life spans. Restylane is a safe and natural cosmetic filler that is immune to these drawbacks given its unique chemical composition. In December 2003, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the use of Restylane for the treatment of facial wrinkles. Additional applications of Restylane include:
Lip augmentation and/or enhancement
Reducing the appearance of lines around the mouth
Modifying nasolabial folds (under the nose) and eye trough deformities
Facial contouring of the cheeks and mouth
It is important to note that while Restylane has been approved to enhance the appearance and fullness of the lips, the safety and efficacy of this application of Restylane has not been established by the FDA.
As we age, our skin changes. Over time, the natural volume of youthful skin begins to diminish as wrinkles and folds form. But, with JUVÉDERM® injectable gel, you don't have to just sit back and let it happen!
JUVÉDERM® is a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid—a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. Your healthcare professional eases JUVÉDERM® injectable gel under the skin to instantly restore your skin's volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, like your “smile lines” or “parentheses” (nasolabial folds—the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth).
JUVÉDERM® provides a smooth, natural look and feel—so everyone will notice (but no one will know)! In fact, studies show superior results of JUVÉDERM® compared to a collagen-based dermal filler.†
Almost 90% of all study volunteers who were treated with both JUVÉDERM® injectable gel and another dermal filler† preferred JUVÉDERM®!
JUVÉDERM® injectable gel is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that is proven to be safe and effective for persons of color.

Immediate Results
With JUVÉDERM® the injection process takes only about 15 minutes and results are immediate. Plus, there's minimal recovery or downtime. So you can step into your doctor's office for treatment and step right back into your life.
*JUVÉDERM® is indicated for injection into the mid to deep dermis for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (such as nasolabial folds).
†The other dermal filler used in this study was ZYPLAST® dermal filler (bovine-based collagen).
COSMODERM® and COSMOPLAST® are two parts of Allergan's Collagen Replacement Therapy™ that rejuvenates the face and smoothes wrinkles. Approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2003, they are the first and only human collagen dermal fillers approved for the treatment of fine lines and lip border.
Mimicking the natural effects of collagen, a natural protein produced in the body, COSMODERM® and COSMOPLAST® contain a highly-purified human collagen to fill in fine lines and wrinkles near the eyes and on the forehead, as well as for restoration of the lip border. COSMODERM® and COSMOPLAST® replenishing collagen lost due to aging, sun exposure, and the environment to restore the natural structure of the skin for a beautiful appearance. As the first FDA-approved dermal fillers to not require a pre-treatment skin test and formulated with lidocaine for patient comfort, they deliver immediate results with no down time.
Perlane® is an injectable cosmetic dermal filler that has been used to soften wrinkles and facial folds of patients across the world. It is also a popular filler for lip augmentation, facial depressions, and facial scarring.
What is Perlane®?
Perlane® is made from non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid (NASHA) gel. This means that Perlane® contains no animal products. Since hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the skin and other tissue, there is no need for a skin test when using Perlane®
The hyaluronic acid in Perlane® supplements the body's natural supply, which becomes depleted with age. Perlane® is biodegradable so its effects are not permanent. The results of a Perlane® filler treatment tend to last six months to a year.
Perlane® can be used in conjunction with BOTOX® Cosmetic, which relaxes the muscles that create wrinkles, but Perlane® simply reduces the visibility of wrinkles and folds.
What Areas of the Face Can Be Treated with Perlane®?
The hyaluronic acid in Perlane® can be used to improve the contour of facial skin and to reduce wrinkles, folds, scars, and other facial skin depressions.
Restylane® vs. Perlane® Filler
Perlane® is primarily the same product as but Perlane® filler contains a larger concentration of hyaluronic acid. Because of this higher concentration of hyaluronic acid, Perlane® is usually used for larger folds, while Restylane® is better suited for smaller wrinkles or to maintain the results of a previous Perlane® injection.
Sculptra® (marketed as New-Fill™ in many countries) is a poly-L-lactic-acid-based injectable dermal filler. Sculptra® is very effective when used as a treatment for wrinkles and fine lines on the face, and it can also be used to improve facial volume and treat lipoatrophy, which is the facial wasting, or loss of facial fat, most often associated with HIV and AIDS.
What is Sculptra®?
Used throughout Europe under the name of New-Fill™ since 1999, Sculptra® is an injectable treatment made from polylactic (also referred to as poly-L-lactic) acid that was FDA approved in August 2004 for the treatment of facial lipoatrophy (facial wasting), especially in patients with HIV/AIDS.
The main ingredient of Sculptra®, polylactic acid, has been used for more than 20 years in surgical products, including dissolvable stitches. Polylactic acid is a synthetic substance made to replicate a natural derivative created by the muscles during exercise. Since Sculptra® is comprised of synthetic materials, there is no need for allergy testing prior to treatment.
After Injection, the polylactic acid will gradually promote the growth of new collagen, which, is not visually evident for approximately six to eight weeks, at which time the patient will return to the physicians office for a repeat procedure. As the patients collagen is stimulated, a fuller and more youthful appearance will take shape and continue for upto two years. Typical treatments take approximately 30 to 45 minutes per vial used, and results can last two or more years!
Launched in the US in April 2006, the Pixel® 2940 laser device from Alma Lasers uses fractional ablative technology for the treatment known as fractional laser skin resurfacing , aimed at rejuvenating aged and sun damaged skin with less downtime than normally associated with traditional ablative laser skin resurfacing procedures.
Technical specifications
The Pixel® 2940 is a laser hand piece (see photo) which emits a 2940nm Er:YAG (Erbium Yag) ablative laser.
Ablative or skin resurfacing lasers, such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and Er:YAG lasers, briefly direct an intense burst of laser energy onto the surface of the skin. This energy heats water within the surface layers of the skin, causing both the water and the tissue of the skin to turn to vapor. Every time the laser passes over the skin, some of the
outermost layers of the skin are removed in a precise and controlled way to the appropriate depth.
The Pixel® 2940 hand piece is designed to be incorporated as part of Alma Lasers’ Harmony® multi-application laser platform.
How does it work?
Unlike with traditional ablative laser resurfacing which removes the whole of the top layer of skin in the targeted treatment area, this fractional method damages only certain zones within the selected target area, (producing tiny white dot, or pixel-like treated areas on the skin), leaving the other zones within it perfectly intact. Therefore only treating approximately 20% of the skin within the treatment area. This allows the skin to heal much faster than if the whole area was treated, as the ‘healthy’ untreated tissue surrounding the treated zones helps to fill in the damaged area with new cells. This causes collagen remodeling, skin tightening and an improvement in skin texture as the area heals.
What can it be used to treat?
The Pixel® 2940 machine is used for the treatment known as skin rejuvenation, which includes; the reduction and possible removal of fine lines and wrinkles, improvement of deeper wrinkles, repair of sun damaged skin, the reduction of age spots and blemishes, acne scars and hyperpigmentation (areas of darker pigment or brown patches in the skin).
Unlike traditional ablative lasers, used only on the face, the Pixel® 2940 is targeted at treatments on the face, neck, chest, arms and hands, giving it a wider scope for treating aged and sun damaged skin.
However Pixel® is not suitable or safe for use on all skin types, and therefore cannot be used on those individuals with Fitzpatrick skin type VI; i.e., very dark skin tones such as African black skin.
How long does it last?
The longevity of results is comparable to ablative laser resurfacing and as always is dependent on future ageing, the effects of gravity and sun exposure.
Side effects & risks
The Pixel® 2940 machine offers speedy healing and minimal to no downtime.
Treatment is generally considered to be well tolerated and almost pain free, with a warm flicking sensation felt on the skin as the laser is fired. A few individuals would prefer to purchase an over-the-counter numbing product at their local pharmacy or drug store and then applying it 20 to 30 mins prior to treatment.
The manufacturers claim that the Pixel® 2940 delivers results on par with traditional ablative lasers, but that it eliminates the possible side effects associated with such traditional ablative methods such as hypo- or hyper-pigmentation (dark or light patches forming on the skin), post-procedure infections, swelling, erythema (redness) or edema (swelling caused by inflammation).
Immediately following treatment, the skin may feel tighter or firmer, and have a smoother feel to the touch. Some minor redness (like sunburn) and skin flaking or peeling can be expected in the days post-treatment, similar to a superficial chemical peel, but with no pain or discomfort expected. Healing gels may be applied to the treated skin to reduce the redness, which should resolve in 24 – 48 hours, depending on skin sensitively. It is also advisable to apply sunscreen to the treated area.
Most people can return to work almost immediately, and in the case of women, any residual redness can easily be covered with makeup.
Treatment regime
Multiple treatment sessions are required with Pixel® 2940 to obtain optimal results.
A treatment program of 3 – 5 treatments, spaced 2 – 4 weeks apart is recommended by the manufacturers to achieve the best results for indications such as sun damage, acne scars, enlarged pores and rough skin texture, fine lines and pigmentation.
The number of treatment sessions required depends upon the individual patient and the condition undergoing treatment; your practitioner will be able to create an appropriate treatment regime for you.
At Clinical Skin Solutions, your Pixel-Q treatment includes the use of Selective Growth Factors and Peptides to create the maximal tightness through increased Collagen production!
Fractional lasers, such as the Pixel and the Pixel-Q, have helped many people have younger looking more beautiful skin.
This is achieved through the use of BOTH ablative and non-ablative techniques, respectively!
Traditionally, fractional laser technology has been ablative and works to reduce top layers of skin through
post treatment peeling (downtime).
This results in the smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles, evening of pigmentation, and mild decreases in the
appearance of old acne scars.
Most people, however, after receiving a series of ablative treatments, or having deeper wrinkles or acne scars,
will progress on to this NON-ablative technology.
How does it work?
The NON-ablative technology, addresses the deeper layers of skin, bypassing the superficial layers.
The Pixel-Q has a longer wave length then other fractional lasers allowing it to safely penetrate the dermal layer of the skin.
The production of collagen occurs with dermal stimulation resulting in a thickening of the dermal/epidermal layer
and a smoothing of texture from the elongation of existing collagen fibers.
This results in an intense tightening of tissue from the natural stimulation of collagen.
This innovation in skin resurfacing delivers a controlled energy at the proper depth without harming the overlying skin.
Therefore, all stages of "healing" and skin remodeling occur under the protection of a complete epidermis without
the downtime or pain!
Treatment regime
A Rejuvenation program of 3 - 5 treatments, spaced approximately 4 weeks apart, are required with the Pixel-Q to obtain
optimal results.
The number of treatment sessions required depends upon the individual patient and the condition undergoing treatment;
your practitioner will be able to create an appropriate treatment regime for you.
No pre-treatment or numbing required.
Post-treatment peptides applied topically, allow for a continued tightening and strengthening of the skin.
The Accent Family platforms now features the Pixel®RF Radio Frequency. The Pixel RF uses the most advanced bipolar RF electrodes that provide both safe and intense tissue heating.
Using Micro Plasma Technology and In-Motion™ refractive Radio Frequency, the PixelRF allows you to both ablate and heat skin through a controlled, focused delivery of energy. Healthy skin around the treated area helps to accelerate the healing process thus improving result and reducing patient down. The result is fresh, smooth and radiant skin.
The PixelRF is highly effective on all skin types and colors (Fitzpatrick I-IV) and treatments can be administered year rough with no seasonal restrictions. Unlike dermal rollers or low power bipolar RF applicators that superficially ablate and heat the skin, the PixelRF causes minimal superficial tissue evaporation while providing deep tissue stimulation producing intense collagen remodeling. This results in a significant dermal impact with minimal epidermal disruption.
Tissue tightening is achieved as a result of deep delivered energy into the skin causing collagen remodeling through a controlled heat response with associated neocollagenesis.
Patients often see an immediate tissue tightening effect after the first treatment, and with each subsequent treatment. Progressive clinical results and efficacy will increase for several months with results continuing to improve through the next six months.
How long the results will be maintained and whether maintenance therapy will be needed is based on the extent of initial tissue damage, solar exposure, anti-oxidant program, health and weight of the patient, as well as other factors.
WHAT IS RADIO FREQUENCY?
Radio frequency (RF) is electromagnetic radiation in the frequency range of 3-300GHz. The primary effects of RF energy on living tissue are considered to be thermal. The goal of the new devices based on these frequency ranges is to heat specific layers of the skin. The directed use of RF can induce dermal heating and cause collagen generation. Wound healing mechanisms promote the remodeling of collagen and tissue contraction, which ultimately clinically enhances the appearance of mild to moderate skin laxity.
Preliminary studies have reported efficacy in the treatment of laxity that involves the peri-orbital area and jowls. Because RF energy is not dependent on specific chromophore interaction, epidermal melanin is not at risk of destruction and treatment of all skin types is possible.
As such, radio-frequency-based systems have been used successfully for non-ablative skin rejuvenation, atrophic scar revision and treatment of unwanted hair, vascular lesions and inflammatory acne.
Here's what industry leaders have to say about the PixelRF:
"PixelRF technology has given us another dimension in the fight against aging. Since fractionated resurfacing with RF technology does not harm the skin's outer layer, the healing time is faster than traditional CO2 lasers. As we noticed during our study The Micro Plasma Technology™ creates multiple, controlled micro perforations within small zones of thermal heating, similar to the pattern created by many fractionated skin resurfacing lasers. During the procedure, just a small portion of the tissue is ablated. The remaining tissue supplies the healing that leads to the elimination of irregular epidermal pigmentation, tightening of dermal collagen and the smoothing that results from the stimulation of the skin's deeper layers. The fact that patients are experiencing less discomfort and a shorter down-time has made this technology a hit in my practice." Dr. Michael Gold, M.D.
Gold Skin Care Center - Nashville, TN
"Skin resurfacing of the face is quick and well tolerated with topical numbing. Initial results have been more impressive than we had been achieving." Jeffrey A. Hunt, D.O.
Vein & Cosmetic Center of Tampa Bay
"I'm excited to add this new treatment protocol for our patients. As an experienced provider of aesthetic and cosmetic services, I wanted to find a device that not only met my patients' needs, but was reliable and easy to use. The PixelRF device is meeting all of our expectations. My patients love the fact they are getting results similar to more aggressive ablative procedures without the post operative pain and downtime associated with these traditional methods. An added bonus is the treatments are relatively quick, as procedure time for full face can be done in as little as 10 minutes." Edward Lack, M.D.

For Sun Damage, Skin Discoloration & Improvement of Skin Texture
The PhotoFacial / IPL treatment, successfully treats the following:
Brown spots (age spots, liver spots) and pigmentation
Photo-Aging (rough texture, red and brown discolorations)
Face veins (telangiectasias)
Redness and brown mottled pigmentation on the face, neck, chest, arms and hands
Rosacea
Actinic keratoses (pre-cancers) and warts
IPL will also improve skin tone and texture, resulting in more vibrant, radiant skin. Photo-rejuvenation using The PhotoFacial / IPL is a non-invasive treatment that treats skin damage without “no down time.” Usually four to six are necessary and are performed 3-4 weeks apart.
Treatments take approximately 15 minutes and usually do not take a numbing cream. After the treatment your skin will feel as though you have a mild sunburn.
Ultrasound machines generate low to high-level sound waves that, when used in facial treatments, will flow deep into the skin’s surface, encouraging cellular renewal and repair, and increasing blood circulation to the area.
Ultrasonic treatments can also encourage collagen tightening to create a smoother, firmer more sculpted appearance. When used in conjunction with topical treatments such as hyaluronic acid, Vitamin E and other hydrating compounds, the device can help deliver nutrients deeper into the skin cells.
Ultrasonic anti aging facials can be a part of a hydrating facial regimen to replenish lost moisture and create a smoother, more youthful look. They can also help to tighten, tone and strengthen the skin around the neck, upper body (décolleté) and jawline.
Ultrasonic technology delivers sound waves deep into the epidermis and dermis. When ultrasound waves enter the body, they are absorbed causing the temperature of the tissue to rise, and this process increases oxygen to the cells, encouraging cellular regeneration!
The sound waves can also cleanse the skin naturally, helping to prevent blemishes. The treatment can be administered with a antiseptic solutions or a healing facial gel.
The Key Benefits of Ultrasonic Anti Aging Facials are :
Softening fine lines and wrinkles
Tightening and toning sagging skin
Reducing puffy eyes
Healing shallow scars
Shrinking large pores
Improving the texture and tone of the skin
Increases cellular metabolism
Lightens dark circles under the eyes
The ultrasonic device is safe enough to use on all skin types, including individuals with rosacea, acne and very sensitive skin. Most people notice gradual results with ongoing treatments, and since this is such a safe and gentle procedure, most skin types can benefit from weekly treatment.

tighter skin.
How many treatments do I need?
Although results can be seen after 4 treatments, it is advised that 6 treatments over 6 weeks be
done. Thereafter, one’s lifestyle can make a huge difference on the need for maintenance treatments.
If one watches their diet and gets regular exercise, then a treatment every 3 months may be all that
is needed. However, inactive lifestyles and over-indulging could mean that a monthly maintenance
is required.
Is VelaShape a permanent cure for cellulite?
No, presently we have no cure for cellulite, but this technology seems to be one of the easiest and
fastest methods of showing improvement than other means available on the market today and, the
procedure is non-invasive with no needles or incisions necessary.
Are there any side effects of the treatments?
Some people may experience some mild bruising which is temporary. If a patient is on anti-coagulants,
they should not undergo treatments as this procedure can increase blood flow to an area. Temporary
redness and increased heat can be experienced in the treated areas for about one hour.
How soon will one see results? Technicians are reporting results in as little as 4 weeks. Treatments of the abdomen, love handles,
buttocks and possibly hips can result in a reduced pant size in as little as one month.
How much is done in one session?
It is advised that each session be limited to no more than 40 minutes. Any given AREA is treated for
a total of 30 minutes, and the areas are fully decided upon at the first consultation. Consultations
are a necessity, because the treatments are completely customized, and everyone has a different
body shape. Therefore, your choices for targeted areas are unlimited and tailored to your specific needs.
What is the approximate cost of treatments?
Since the areas to be treated are customized, it is advised to discuss this fully at the first consultation.
In general, to reduce thigh circumference, two separate sessions will be required for a total treatment
time of 80 minutes.
The total thigh treatment will TYPICALLY cost approximately $1200 on an average size person.
Plan on 6 initial treatments followed by maintenance treatments as discussed above.
However, if only the back of the upper thighs are treated for cellulite, then each session is approximately
30 minutes and would cost $320.
Packages are often offered, so it is best to check with your VelaShape Technician for different pricing options.
